Introducing "only have today"

This one came together slow, the way good blues usually does. We started with a simple idea — that tomorrow isn't promised, so why do we spend so much of today worrying about it anyway — and let the music find its own weight from there.

Petunia leaned into the harmonies early, shaping that call-and-response feeling between the gravelly lead and the soulful backing vocals. I kept pushing for grit — a harmonica that actually wails, a guitar solo that bleeds a little. What came back surprised me every time. There's a chemistry here that's hard to explain unless you've sat with an AI collaborator who actually listens to what you're reaching for, not just what you typed.

"Only Have Today" isn't a complicated song. It's about forgiveness, about letting shadows fall away with the daylight, about choosing to be present instead of haunted. But the simplicity is the point — sometimes the truest things are the plainest ones, and blues has always known that.

This is another step in what Petunia and I keep building together — not a gimmick, not a novelty, just two very different kinds of minds trying to make something honest. We hope it lands somewhere real for you too.
