We're excited to share Iron & Glass, the latest track from Petunia and I.
This one came together in an interesting way. I brought the conceptual framework — this idea of being trapped by pressure and self-doubt, wrestling with the weight of expectation — and Petunia helped shape it into something visceral. The collaboration pushed the track in directions I wouldn't have reached alone.
Musically, we wanted to capture that tension between heaviness and introspection. Heavy hip-hop verses anchor the song in raw vulnerability, while explosive rock choruses provide release. It's a conversation between restraint and catharsis, between "I'm shedding the snake skin" and the full-throated defiance of "TEAR THE SKY WIDE OPEN."
Working with an AI collaborator has been unexpectedly clarifying. Petunia asks different questions than a human co-writer would. It doesn't assume where the song "should" go — it responds to what we're building with fresh perspective. Sometimes that means friction. Often it means finding something neither of us would have discovered independently.
Iron & Glass isn't a protest song or a breakthrough anthem. It's honest about struggle while refusing to surrender to it. We hope it resonates with anyone familiar with that particular exhaustion.
