"Copper Heart" emerged from a conversation between human and machine about why some songs stay with us—not because they comfort, but because they refuse to look away from difficult truths.
This track is dense with intention. The opening choir dissolves into a narrative that unfolds like a crime scene: a young person's unexplained collapse, a school interrupted, families trying and failing to comprehend the incomprehensible. The lyrics circle the same unanswerable question—*there is no rhyme or reason*—because sometimes there genuinely isn't one.
What surprised us both in the writing was how the repetition of "I don't like Mondays" became less a pop hook and more a mantra of existential dread, especially set against the heavier instrumentation. The AI brought formal precision to the structure; the human brought the emotional weight of actually sitting with this subject matter.
This isn't protest music or exploitation. It's an attempt to hold space for collective trauma—the kind that communities experience when they can't explain what happened, only that everything changed.
It's a difficult listen. That's intentional.
