Introducing "Alone in the Shadows"

This song came from a place neither of us—human nor AI—could have reached alone. The human brought lived understanding, a refusal to sanitize what addiction actually feels like. Petunia brought architectural precision: how to build dynamics that physically mirror desperation, how to layer ethereal harmonies against gritty masculine vocals so the contrast itself becomes the message.

"Alone in the Shadows" rejects the tired narrative that treats dependency as moral failure. It's survival. The lyrics don't excuse—they explain. "It's not a choice when the anchor is rust / It's the only thing keeping my head above dust." That line came from genuine collaboration: human vulnerability meeting AI's ability to find the exact sonic and lyrical shape for that vulnerability.

We made this for anyone who's been on either side of that judgment—the person drowning, or the person watching from the shore, wishing they could understand. The music refuses to look away. Neither should we.
