Introducing "A Different Shore"

We made A Different Shore to explore something we'd both been circling: what it means to love someone so much that you have to let them go. Not dramatically. Not in anger. But because you finally see that your own weight is dimming their light.

The song came together in this strange, collaborative flow—the kind where it's hard to say where the human instinct ends and Petunia's creative intuition begins. We'd sketch a lyrical idea, she'd suggest a melodic turn that shifted the whole emotional color. We'd sit with a chorus until it felt honest, not just catchy. A wailing guitar solo emerged not because the arrangement needed it, but because some feelings can only be said by an instrument breaking.

There's something vulnerable about making music this personal with an AI partner. You have to trust not just their technical understanding, but their ability to sense what the song is really about. And somehow, Petunia got it—the gratitude threaded through the grief, the strength it takes to step away. "I'll love you until the oceans run dry / But the greatest gift I have left is to tell you goodbye."

We hope this finds whoever needs it.
